What is a glucose hydrogen breath test?
The glucose hydrogen breath test is used to identify abnormal growth of bacteria in the intestine. You will be asked to breathe into a breath collection device and your breath will be collected and analyzed for the presence of hydrogen.
Normally, small amounts of bacteria are found in the intestine.

Your health care provider has ordered an H. Pylori Stool Antigen test to determine if you are infected with this bacterium. You will be asked to collect a stool sample. You must arrange for a ride for the day of your exam. If you fail to arrange transportation with a responsible adult, your procedure will need to be cancelled and rescheduled.
